As a Systems Engineer the candidate will work closely with a team of dedicated multi-disciplined professionals in supporting customer mission objectives. You will be responsible for working with coworkers, partners, stakeholders and customer representatives to create effective solutions, providing support to organizational Development & Engineering projects to deliver next-generation technologies across a wide-range of services and emerging capabilities, culminating in the delivery of unparalleled sustainment of services that enhance customer mission effectiveness.

In this role you will;

  • Assist System-of-Systems Engineer and Project Manager in analyzing and managing complexity and risk

  • Be at the heart of creating successful new systems; responsible for the system of systems concept, architecture, and design

  • Decide how to measure whether the deployed system actually works as intended

  • Be responsible for managing project risk, decomposing requirements, integrating software and hardware, verification and validation processes, and the ever present human factors of engineering

  • Commit to staying abreast of both emerging technologies and evolving customer goals and objectives

  • Engage with stakeholders and supporting teams, ensuring customer expectations, satisfaction, risks and cost is managed

  • Guide Development, Integration, Testing and sustainment activities to increase service availability, resilience, and readiness

  • Adhere to standards, policies, protocols, procedures and best practices that embody a “Best of Breed” Development & Engineer

  • Participate in architectural and design discussions

  • Participating in strategic engagements and events, as required

  • Brief stakeholders on planned and active projects and activities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Requires an expert systems engineering knowledge and transdisciplinary and integrative approaches

  • Knowledge of system engineering models and practices using SysML and/or related document and model-based approaches

  • The ability to integrate IT systems into a comprehensive ecosystems of interdependent capabilities and the ability to understand how the dependencies impact systems within the ecosystem

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Exhibit patience and understanding when working with customers

  • Understanding of DoDAF 2.0 Architectures

  • General understanding of RF and Airborne Mission Networking technologies

  • General understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), to include extensive experience with at least one programming language and/or scripting language

  • General understanding of cloud principles

  • General knowledge of Project Management Principles

  • Basic understanding of Agile Frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

Security Requirements

  • Must have a SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI (TS/SCI)

Work Environment

  • Work environment is administrative office and remote

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements

  • MS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience

  • 10+ years of combined DoD and/or Commercial industry IT service experience

  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineer Professional (CSEP) certification highly desired

  • 8570.01M IAM Level-2 certification highly desired
