GDIT is seeking a Windows System, Infoblox and VMware (ESXi) Engineer for Hosting, Operations and Maintenance (HOM) services for the Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) contract. You will be responsible for designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems. Manages the design of server and application architectures and the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software. Develops baseline configurations and directs modification of configuration settings. Develops troubleshooting and incident response procedures. Troubleshoots system related problems. Recommends future direction or projects to management.
This effort includes developing and maintaining a secure and certified architecture to support e-Government initiatives; minimize the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) security risk and enhance the protection of privacy and security of data, and improve the CMS’ ability to accommodate the growing workload.
The candidate must prove a 3 year residency in the United States for at least 3 years.
Assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems.
Installing or upgrading Windows systems and servers.
Performed cross platform audits of Active Directory (AD) objects and user permissions.
Managed User Accounts on WindowsNT and UNIX Platform (Creation, Deletion, Permissions, and VPN Access).
Developed organizational units in Active Directory (AD) and managed user security with group policies.
Maintained and managed Domain Name Service (DNS) for AETC Active Directory (AD) enterprise.
Experience in design of DNS, DHCP and NTP Architecture and Infoblox Grid technology integration.
Managed Group Policy Objects (GPOs) throughout the Active Directory (AD) enterprise.
Provides Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
Able to coordinate and partner with various team, network engineers/administrators, and customer organizations in the execution of daily tasks.
Develop solutions in a growing Microsoft Windows and VMWare based environment and ensuring the availability of virtualization hosts VMWare, AWS, Azure, etc.
Plans upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.
Develops documentation on new or existing systems.
Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.
Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
Participates in special projects as required.
Has experience with, Virtualization, Windows, Unix, Storage and basic Network.
Has full technical knowledge of all phases of systems engineering.
Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through.
Able to review the work of others and detect errors or needed modifications.
Able to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of systems engineering.
Proficient in Microsoft Infrastructure components: Microsoft Server 2012/2016, Active Directory, DNS, DFS, DHCP, Group Policy, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Office, IIS.
Proficient with maintaining virtualization environments: Vmware, Hypervisor and Citrix.
Experience with Active Directory domains and trusts, security delegation and file share security.
Basic networking experience and understanding of LAN switching and VLANs.
Experience with remote server administration using HPE iLO.
Candidate MUST be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of Studies.
Required Skills and Responsibilities:
8+ years of experience as a VMWare Engineer or related experience in Information Technology.
VMware virtualization expertise is required to support both onsite and remote site activities.
Provide Operation and Sustainment support for the virtualization environment.
Ensure virtualization systems are compliant within required security standards.
Develop and maintain O&S Standard Operating Procedures for VMware virtualization environment.
Support diagnoses and troubleshooting of problems with the virtualization environment including Microsoft Windows and Linux O/S systems.
Within established procedures, responds to end user requests for technical support and assistance.
Support off-hours maintenance activities.
Support the Certification and Accreditation process for virtualization hosts.
Gain familiarity with current data center infrastructure.
Deploy new server and workstations through SCCM for physical and VMware templates for Virtual Machines
Maintaining and administer Group Policy Objects in Microsoft Active Directory
Assist team with continuous monitoring, implementation and troubleshooting of required patch compliance for all client and server devices utilizing SCCM server
Responsibilities may require periodic evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.
