General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a LeadFunctional Analyst who holds an active secret clearance.
The Global Freight Management system supports the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) as the surface transportation component of the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), which leads the Department of Defense with all of their military transportation requirements.
GDIT provides development, maintenance, and sustainment support for the GFM as partners with the SDDC. GFM is comprised of more than a dozen web-based/cloud-based applications which facilitate the communication between SDDC, shipping businesses, and commercial transport companies in support of the bidding, selection, and coordination of military equipment and personnel requiring transportation anywhere around the world.
Act as liaison between developers, scrum masters, and the PMO to help capture, coordinate, and vet software requirements in support of the GFM system and its components.
Serve as project lead for assigned software development efforts; work with software developers to accurately assess level of effort, capture questions/issues, and work with the customer to resolve.
Update Jira tickets, user stories, and SBM spreadsheets as needed to ensure accuracy of project work.
Record and publish meeting minutes for all requirements meetings and other project meetings involving PMO staff.
Track project delivery schedules for potential impacts and delays; develop and implement PMO-approved get-well plans to counter any schedule slippages.
Ensure user stories are updated and accurate throughout release lifecycle.
Initiate and maintain project development documents associated with assigned projects.
Follow the project life cycle process to the end of the release and conduct Demos to PMO along with training to the customers.
Assist technical writers as needed for the development and release of manuals, public notices, and other documents related to assigned projects.
Assist in testing as needed
Oversee four other functional analysts in their duties as they relate to the above actions
Support the project management team, agile coach, and scrum masters where possible to ensure scrum, Kanban, and sprint processes are being developed, documented, and implemented correctly.
Participate in weekly meetings with the development teams, project management team, and/or PMO office.
Additional duties as required
Experience with requirements collection, vetting, and validation; preferably with software development.
Experience working with groups and teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with collaboration tools (MS Teams, Skype, Zoom, etc.)
3 years’ experience with requirements collection, vetting, and validation; preferably with software development.
1 year experience leading team/group
Demonstratable knowledge/understanding of software development lifecycle
Active DoD Secret security clearance is a must
Experience with scrums, Kanban, and/or Agile
Experience with project management or as project lead
Ability to manage multiple tasks, duties, and responsibilities
