Budget Analyst

GDIT Federal Financial Agencies is looking for a Budget Analyst to utilize industry-wide, established accounting and financial procedures to provide analysis of fiscal data, and to execute program financials and operations for one of our Financial Agencies Customer. The candidate for this position must utilize fundamental fiscal concepts in preparing written and oral budgetary recommendations for Enterprise-wide budget requirements and collaborate with various medical research facilities management staff and other personnel on technical budgetary matters.

The Budget Analyst provides the general preparation and administration of various Enterprise-wide research budgets including short and long-range budgetary projections, while utilizing economic forecasting and financial analytic techniques, and utilizes current organization-wide and/or resource management specific software to complete assignments. The candidate for this position:

• Provides deliverables required for Enterprise-wide activities
• Performs financial and budget analysis for research projects
• Provides daily monitoring of project funding
• Provides analytical support for budgetary, administrative, and statistical budget formulation activities
• Performs a wide variety of technical tasks in support of the financial analysis process including gathering, compiling, and analyzing data from a broad range of sources using a variety of analytical techniques
• Delivers reports and presentations for colleagues and senior managers

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years combined experience in budgeting and related disciplines, including:

• Providing comprehensive knowledge of financial planning, programming, budgeting, and execution processes, procedures, directives and guidelines
• Budget formulation and documentation procedures
• Budget and program execution review processes and procedures

Required Skills:

• Responsible for budget services
• Ability to formulate a budget
• Provide input to processes
• Assist in the development and maintenance of budget processes and systems
• Review program procedures and processes and assist in the implementation of efficient and effective budgeting systems
• Advise and assist management in implementing actions to streamline and improve budgeting systems and processes

Education Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
