GDIT Federal Financial Agencies is looking for a Mid-Level Project Manager to join our Project Management Services Team on an IT Operations project. The Project Manager provides project management support for large Enterprise Operations and Maintenance and is responsible for project management tasks associated with design, configuration, and installation support for large Enterprise IT projects. This position ensures that all projects, designated by the government, are completed to specification within an established timeframe and budget.

This position works under the general guidance of the Program Manager, Project Management Team, and other stakeholders in an Agile, DevSecOps, fast-paced, rapidly changing, collaborative environment, and requires strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills. The candidate for this position:

  • Provides oversight, guidance, direction, and leadership to all contracted team members assigned to individual projects
  • Provides briefings to leadership, create reports and documentation on demand, ensure deliverable compliance, and interface between customer organization and team members
  • Provides overall responsibility for the success of the project team efforts, including managing staff tasks, processes, project initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, and controlling all collaborative efforts reeled to projects
  • Works with the Project management Team to provide effective and efficient management of the Contractor’s efforts

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience executing all phases of the Project Management Lifecycle

Required Skills:

  • Lead large and complex IT and non-IT projects with project teams that included third party vendor resources
  • Manage and implement software solutions using best practices in the areas of application architecture and development, configuration management, release management and application support
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated teaching abilities on project management topics
  • Knowledge of Federal IT security and IT operations compliance, guidance, and best practices, including NIST and ITIL, is very beneficial. At a minimum, the ability to acquire this knowledge rapidly, and with little guidance from the customer is essential

 Education:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, Business, Management, or related discipline from an accredited university or college

Certification Requirements:

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or other equivalent project-management related certification
