Technical Development Lead (Salesforce – 100% Remote)

Our work depends on a Technical Lead joining our team to support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Technical Lead supporting CMS, you will be trusted to lead development of both On-Prem and Amazon Web Services-based development. You will ensure that solutions are designed and delivered using multiple types of technologies and that they integrate with CMS data sources and standards. You will be the focal point for planning and coordinating regularly scheduled and ad hoc (expedited) software releases with the customer. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Designing and supporting the implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and high-performance applications that adhere to security and data protection requirements.
• Developing applications using Spring Framework (IoC, MVC, Transactions, Security, and Batch).
• Serve as the primary point of contact responsible for all aspects of the planning and execution of all technical requirements supporting application development, DevSecOps, infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity both in Azure cloud and on-premises.
• Pro-actively participate in Agile development activities, estimating detail design and development efforts, and adhering to development timelines specified by the sprint schedule.
• Optimize processes to maximize technical efficiency across the program, including process automation and functional integration efforts.
• Identify improvement opportunities for both AWS cloud and on-prem solutions.
• Support Agile workplace methodology and provide all recommendations and guidance in alignment with Agile implementation.
• Develop and promote processes and coding standards to improve code quality.
• Lead and mentor developers in implementing highly scalable web applications.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field
• 5+ years of experience leading the development of software initiatives in an Agile software development lifecycle
• Must have experience managing, mentoring, and directing a team of software developers
• Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
• Candidate must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years

• Expert-level hands-on experience with Cloud and On-Prem technologies, including:
  • AWS (including AWS Elastic Container Service, AWS Load Balancer)
  • Salesforce Custom Development
  • Microstrategy Business Intelligence
  • IBM Portal Webserver
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server
  • JAVA Server Pages (JSP)
  • Angular
  • MVC framework (Spring portlet modeler)
  • Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDMS)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• US citizen or a Green Card holder
• Experience working with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
• AWS and/or Agile certification(s)
• Ability to manage time effectively, to work under time pressure, to meet schedules and deadlines, to multi-task, to plan, organize and prioritize work assignments and pay close attention to detail
• Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in process management and continuous improvement
• Ability to present material to various stakeholders and levels of management

The likely salary range for this position is $168,000 - $252,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
