GDIT is seeking a Communications Lead to help support an exciting new Cloud Service Offering contract, Defense Enterprise Office Solutions (DEOS), in Fort Meade, MD. This position will require the employee to report onsite at least 3-4 days a week. 
 

NOTE: This position is contingent upon contract funding and tasking.

The Communications Lead will:

  • Work in a DoD Cloud Service Offering environment and assist government leaders with preparation for stakeholder and communication engagements.

  • Prepare and write speeches, talking points, briefings, articles, and proposed public affairs guidance in support of clients programs and command information communications.

  • Develop, coordinate, produce, and manage the dissemination of multi-media communications, including program information publications, handouts, posters and banners, news releases, articles, Web-based and social media content, videos, and photographs.

  • Coordinate the production of the organizations Web site and production and updates to the online portfolio, including providing media relations expertise to the Webmaster and graphics designer.

  • Provide insights and review of team efforts for recurring and special media training and staff development events for the client workforce.

  • Write articles for both digital and paper dispersal to highlight the organizations efforts and results.

  • Able to lead change management and transformation initiatives through clear and effective internal and external communications. 

  • Provide leadership and day-to-day management of the team. 

  • Recognized for strong expertise in industry issues and trends.

  • Utilize functional area expertise gained through direct industry experience to assess the operational and functional baseline of an organization and its organizational components.

  • Works with senior customers and executives to provide industry vision and strategic direction regarding their enterprise.

  • Guides the determination of information technology inadequacies and/or deficiencies that affect the functional area’s ability to support/meet organizational goals.

  • Generates functional area strategies for enhanced IT operations in a cross-functional area mode throughout the organization.

  • Participates in account strategy sessions, strategic assessments and design reviews to validate enterprise approach and associated work products, such as ERP implementations.

  • Provides guidance and direction to other professionals, acts in a consulting and/or advisory capacity; coordinates resolution of highly complex problems and tasks, possesses ability to meet and operate under deadlines. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance  

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field

  • 8 years experience

  • 3+ Years managing Office 365 services in a large-scale cloud environment 

  • Expertise leading large scale enterprise user engagement activities with Customers 

  • Expertise planning, developing and implementing enterprise change management strategies 

  • Expertise authoring formal deliverables such as Communications Plans, User Engagement Plans, Schedules, and Requirements Capturing Artifacts 

  • Expertise coordinating and communicating with senior executive officers and customers 

  • Experience with commercial cloud services

  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environment 

  • Able to report onsite as indicated above

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS, Azure and/or GCP cloud services
