Research Scientist (Clinical Research, TBI)

GDIT's Military Health Team is hiring a Research Scientist to help with the development of clinical investigations for the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBI CoE) located at Camp Pendleton in Southern, CA.

As the TBI Pathway of Care manager within the MHS, the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence promotes state-of-the-science care from point-of-injury to reintegration for service members, veterans, and their families to prevent and mitigate consequences of mild to severe TBI.

The Research Scientist will support research related to military traumatic brain injury. S/he will assist in the execution of studies involving the validation of treatments and interventions as well as other research efforts. S/he will be engaged in data analysis and coordinate with other technical and professional staff, prepares documents, written reports, manuscripts for submission to scientific journals, and completes other projects as needed.What You'll Be Doing:

• Leading and/or assisting the development of research/clinical investigations/studies projects, and carrying out those projects.
• Investigating the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific methodologies and concepts to potential inventions, products and problems.
• Assists with formulating experimental hypotheses and designs experimental and other study protocols.
• Assists in developing necessary new technologies and protocols, processes and interprets experimental and other study data, coordinates with other technical and professional staff.
• Prepares documents, written reports, manuscripts for submission to scientific journals, and completes other projects as needed.
• Provides collaborative assistance to other Research Scientists.
• Other duties consistent with the above responsibilities.

What You'll Need (required):

• Ph.D. or MD in Psychology, Epidemiology, or a related scientific field.
• 5 years or more related experience.
• History of scientific publication on traumatic brain injury or a related field.
• Knowledge and experience in advanced statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of applicable complex scientific procedures and techniques
• ability to troubleshoot technical procedures;
• supervise others working for this contract.
• Excellent collaborative skilled required.
• US Citizenship is required with the ability to pass a T3 security investigation.

What Would Be Even Better (preferred):

• Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care strongly preferred.
