Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. The Navy’s Personnel Modernization (PersMod) team is seeking a Business Data Analyst to support their efforts. This is a remote work position.

At GDIT, our people are at the center of everything we do. As a Data and Business Analyst you will be trusted to work on a large critical data migration project. You will assess incoming data sources and compare with existing data sources. In addition, you will create data mapping artifacts and analyze business rules and assist in the development and management of master data, as needed.  To succeed in this role, you should have a very fine eye for detail, an analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Performing requirements analysis relative to data management and data governance activities.

  • Supporting initiatives for data storage structures including data integrity, normalization, data mining, and data cleansing.

  • Contributing to the development of management of master data.

  • Documenting and effectively communicate work results and findings.

  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.

  • Understanding the development and use of metadata and standards.

  • Managing competing resources and priorities to ensure timely completion of deliverables.

  • Working with stakeholders and colleagues including architects, developers, clients, users, and managerial staff.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • 5+ years of business analysis and data management

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Experience with process mapping and data modeling tools.

  • Technical expertise with data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

  • High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large scale databases.

  • Navy Manpower, Personnel, Training, and Education (MPT&E) data experience a plus

  • Secret clearance

The likely salary range for this position is $72,000 - $108,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
