As a Technical Writer/Editor you will be responsible for the following tasks:
Translate technical information into clear, concise documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
Develop and/or maintain the following types of documentation: communications for diverse stakeholder groups; system documentation and release notes; user manuals and training guides; installation guides; computer operations and program maintenance manuals; plans for training, testing, quality assurance, and contingency operations; backup, recovery, and restart procedures; proposals, presentations, reports, standard operating procedures (SOP), policies and procedures.
Edit of special reports or any other deliverables and documents.
Manage multiple writing and editing assignments in a dynamic, agile systems development work environment within stated timelines.
Work closely with software engineers/architects and software systems directly to document client-specific processes and procedures, for multiple stakeholder groups (technical and non-technical), in a variety of easy-to-understand, instructional formats (user guides, job aids, etc.).
Work closely with software engineers/architects and software systems directly to document internal processes and procedures.
Work with team members and client to review and revise documents timely to achieve client’s approval.
Create and review non-technical and technical documents, in electronic and hardcopy formats prepared using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, or Excel, to ensure they are error-free, readable, and adhere to style and accessibility standards.
Review and correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling as well as readability and clarity of every sentence.
Review text for consistent use of terminology, acronyms, and abbreviations.
Confirm documents conform to client-specific style, tone, and document layout standards.
Review client’s editorial comments and assist teams in revising the client-specific Writing Style Guide and document templates, as needed.
5 to 7 years of professional experience.
Ability to independently conduct interviews with IT, Finance, and Customer Service staff in order to document processes and workflows.
Experience documenting processes and workflows using Microsoft Office Software.
Experience documenting IT processes and workflows.
Able to work without assistance.
Provide leadership to others.
Able to manage complex work efforts.
Secret Clearance required.
