HOW BEING A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR MAKE AN IMPACT?

Ensure the safety and security of our nation as a Systems Administrator at GDIT. You’ll apply the latest technology and provide operational support to deliver actionable intelligence for the Intelligence Community. Here, your work will have meaning and impact as you deliver your best every day.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Required Experience:

  • Establish server baseline
  • Develop clear and concise server build report (procedure)
  • Submit build report for all deliveries
  • Coordinate server installation; create and/or update asset management record—responsible for integrity of asset management record
  • Configure, build, monitor, update/upgrade and maintain/administer servers
  • Provide technical configuration, setup, installation services, hardware and coordination for application projects
  • Implement baseline changes under tech lead oversight
  • Install security updates and patches
  • Perform operating system software updates/upgrades
  • Assess server loads and develop tuning recommendations
  • Communicate outage/degradation of server to appropriate oversight
  • Create request for service support from internal/external service providers
  • Respond to, troubleshoot, analyze, isolate and resolve issues identified by a change request or trouble ticket in a timely manner
  • Maintain server rooms
  • Maintain/ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
  • Monitor/support backup process
  • Restore file and data information, as requested
  • Perform server checklist
  • Perform technical evaluations, analysis, and troubleshoot all supported servers in response to service tickets—which includes, but is not limited to, the following activities: server failures, full system outage
  • Provide operational pager/cell phone duty support
  • Provide remote access to servers
  • Recommend hardware upgrades/replacements for Sponsor consideration
  • Transition servers
  • Assist in special projects
  • Support Sponsor in discussions regarding Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs); provide input to ensure MOA is within scope of support
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
