The primary focus of this position is creating an architecture, engineering and implementation plan for the secure web and application services, virtualization and cloud services, and enterprise search and correlation services. This position will be responsible for the development and delivery of the modular enterprise architecture and engineering design to include the implementation plan for the secure web and application services and storage and backup solutions that shall support the infrastructure hosting workloads for AWS and MS Azure.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate outstanding hands-on experience and thorough understanding of Storage, Platform and Cloud architecture and engineering design, configuration, and troubleshooting. The candidate must demonstrate excellent understanding with Secure Web and Application Services solution to include architecture and engineering, designing configuring, and implementing appropriate technology. The candidate must demonstrate on-the-job competencies and in-depth experience working and integrating open source frameworks/products, experience deploying various open source packages and/or application stacks into sponsor’s production landscape, multi-core, multi-threaded, and distributed system.

Designs systems architecture for new or existing computer systems.

Creates, plans, and configures highly complex engineering systems for optimal operations.

Creates and engineers highly advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.

Designs and engineers highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

Creates and designs highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.

Performs continual maintenance and creates highly ingenious solutions for security, backup and redundancy problems.

Provides critical insight and guidance for the preparation and maintenance of all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.

Provides guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers.

Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.

May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.

May serve as a task or project leader. (Not a people manager)

Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineering.

Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency.

Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure.

Implements, manages and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools.

Creates, maintains, and reviews Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Desired State Configuration (DSC) and/or Puppet configuration management tools to support the provisioning infrastructure.

Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.

Recognized as an industry leader in a specific technology.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 20+ years of experience
