GDIT is currently seeking a C++ Engineer for our FAA contract. The candidate will work as part of SST's civil navigation programs supporting the FAA and Joint DOD/FAA aviation projects. As part of that team the candidate will design and develop software for analysis of avionics data, GPS/Satellite Navigation data, develop web-based programming test tools and data analytics/visualization tools. Duties include designing and developing software that interfaces with ORACLE databases and real-time data streams; involve working in mostly Linux environment and require C/C++, system and network programming (or other Server side programming), and the ability to query and navigate Oracle database objects (SQL). Candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills, which are necessary for technical reports and presentations, and work well in both group and individual assignments. Duties will include, but not limited to:
Plan, develop, test, and document highly complex application programs
Generate new code and correct, convert, and/or modify existing code to meet specifications
Prepare specifications from which code will be written
BA/BS in Computer Science or related field
Requires minimum 5 years of related experience in the following:
Experience in big data, data mining, and machine learning
Familiarity with GPS, Avionics, GPS Simulators is not required but a plus
Developing software or hardware interfaces
