GDIT has a need for a Systems Engineer Sr Advisor/Site Lead to support U.S. Army Europe as a member of our EMITS program team in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the successful completion of all tasks including technical projects assigned to the program. They will be responsible for development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, and task workload.

Additional Job Duties:

  • Review of future project requirements and develops strategies for future work.

  • Attends customer meetings and serves as client liaison.

  • Manages ongoing quality control and quality assurance activities, and participates in quality issue resolution.

  • Coordinates development of deliverables and products.

  • Monitors, tracks, and controls outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables.

  • Establish practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  • Participates in special projects as required.

  • Determine architecture requirements and scope data collection to achieve desired products

  • Decompose existing policy, plans, doctrine and instructions to derive architecture artifacts

  • Create architecture products in accordance with established formats; DoDAF primarily

  • Employ architecture products to conduct analysis to determine capability gaps

  • Derive requirements for future programming based on capability gaps

  • Lead the development effort to modernize the USAREUR G2 workflow by migrating intelligence production, management, and dissemination away from US-only thick client systems and onto a web-based platform fully integrated in the coalition domain, dramatically increasing mission readiness and interoperability.

  • Design, Develop, and implement software solutions to enable entity information sharing between US Army and NATO intelligence systems including DCGS-A, GCCS-J, IntelFS, JOIIS, and NITB hosted across multiple domains including US BICES, NATO Secret, US SIPR, and episodic mission networks.

  • Ensure successful integration and deployment of multi-platform systems and networks into coalition environments while successfully negotiating technical, procedural, policy, and security challenges.

  • Design and implement intelligence systems in support of key US Army Europe objectives in support of US and NATO exercises.

  • Coordinate the deployment of tactical communications packages to support intelligence requirements, leveraging WIN-T and TROJAN communications, deploying PACSTAR-based US BICES “fly-away” kits, and ensuring that intelligence systems function effectively given all bandwidth, availability, and firewall constraints.

  • Develop and deliver written and verbal communications through the O9 level, providing clear, concise, and actionable project information to customers and decision makers.

  • Coordinate diverse customer requirements against a team of over 25 Information Technology professionals, carefully managing resources to consistently deliver timely and correct solutions in support of enterprise theater networks, forward deployed mission networks, intelligence system architectures, and the full suite of IT hardware including PC’s, network routers, switches, and encryptors, and VoIP/VTC systems.

  • Analyze customer and project requirements, recommended manpower expansion, and promptly staff new positions within the contracting team supporting the Network Operations site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

  • Must have a current IAT Level III 8570 Certification when hired and an active TS/SCI.

  • Must be able to pass TESA.

  • Extensive knowledge and prior development of DoDAF architecture products

  • Understanding of DoD Intelligence disciplines, systems, processes and functions

  • Experience with architecture tools and visualization products

  • Experience with joint headquarters organizations a plus; Database experience.

  • 15-20 or more years of related information technology experience.
