Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with program managers, stakeholders, and other performers to assess, plan, coordinate, and conduct activities related to project milestones.
  • Collaborate with DHS project managers and Subject Matter Experts to strengthen their ability to execute the program by:
    • Taking ownership of assigned project management tasks to help the clients implement their strategies, maximize the return on investment, minimize program risks, and build partnerships
      • Supporting client, stakeholder and team meetings with task tracking, coordination, logistics, knowledge capture, and materials preparation
      • Working as a liaison between the client and technical performers to ensure effective communications and program execution
    • Supporting the creation and update of program artifacts (e.g., project management plans, PowerPoint presentations, meeting reports, charters, and After Action Reports)

o   Develop executive briefing materials for regular program technical and performance reviews.

    • Supporting the execution of internal program support processes (e.g., conference approval, privacy, procurement, invitational travel)
    • Supporting field testing and operational experiment activities
    • Supporting strategy development activities
  • Coordinate with other S&T entities to reduce redundancy, increase efficiency and effectiveness, and ensure consistent messaging, by:
    • Developing and maintaining program documentation for the DHS S&T SharePoint site
    • Establishing regular collaboration opportunities across S&T, DHS, and the federal government as well as with state and local first responders and industry
    • Supporting information sharing procedures to improve awareness of the program status, scope, and messaging

·        Facilitate external coordination with partners, performers, stakeholders, industry and innovators to increase program awareness and impact, by:

    • Supporting stakeholder engagement and management activities on behalf of S&T (e.g., SAFECOM, the First Responder Resource Group))
    • Working collaboratively with S&T stakeholders from industry and academia

o   Coordinating conference management office-related efforts, including strategic calendar development, submission preparation, logistics management and on-site support at RDT&E events


Secondary/Support Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to introduce ideas for processes, methods, and initiatives that promote efficiency, align initiatives, fill gaps, and create additional value
  • Act as the data call liaison (in coordination with Team members)

o   Provide updates to monthly status report to the Under Secretary for S&T

o   Provide input for relevant Executive Secretary requests, as needed

  • Support regular activities reporting requirements from GDIT (e.g., monthly status report, internal program review)
