Our work depends on an Software Developer - Application Support Analyst to work on the GSA Assisted Services Information System (ASSIST) program. ASSIST is an acquisition system that provides GSA contractors and government customers with standardized task and delivery order management software. The system helps its users award and administer assisted acquisitions effectively. The enterprise application leverages an industry leading digital workflow system for managing large operations.


Provides advanced application support for a complex software. Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions. Designs, implements, or customizes software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. May analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team; utilizes agile development methodologies as part of an inter-disciplinary agile team.


  • Performs all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Analyzes user/business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems to meet those needs
  • Creates a variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an application
  • Performs software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needs
  • Provides analysis for reports on software project specifications, activities, or status
  • Thoroughly documents the software or system for future maintenance and updatesMay coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
  • May serve as a team or task lead

  • BA/BS in IT or related discipline and 7+ years of software development experience as outlined above or additional applicable experience in lieu of a degree.


  • Experience with java programming supporting large, custom developed enterprise applications
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse user base for the applications, i.e. novice users to application developers to leadership managers
  • Working knowledge of supporting applications in cloud environment, primarily AWS, but can be any cloud private, hybrid, commercial
  • Experience working with Federal agency users

The likely salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
