Job Description

Join General Dynamic Information Technology’s (GDIT’s) Defense Division to support Systems Engineering services for an exciting new contract.  As a Capability Engineer you will be responsible for design, documentation, implementation and management of IT services for a hybrid cloud capability.  You will manage Enterprise IT Systems to enable highly available and secure services between on premise data center capabilities and cloud services.

Candidates will have a deep understanding of Cloud Capabilities Engineering and industry standards.  Provide technical expertise to research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to meet the organizations mission needs. Ability to articulate technical design recommendations and justifications for Cloud system solutions.  Ability to apply System Engineering practices to turn the operational, interoperability requirements based on applicable Cloud Service architectures into operational concepts.  Provide support to system managers on significant issues affecting training knowledge transfer and change management.  Ability to lead development, coordination, and evaluation of technical training delivery and change management within an operational environment.


  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or in an engineering related discipline and 8+ years of Systems Engineering experience to include 3+ years of Cloud Service experience; additional experience / certifications may be considered in place of education

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility

  • IT System expertise (IdAM, Active Directory, Windows Server, Storage, Virtualization)

  • Expertise of information technology principles, methods, and techniques as well as knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment

  • Expertise in DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC-SRG) and SCCA Architectures including Cloud Access Point (CAP) architectures

  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environment

  • Ability to motivate teams to perform exceptionally over long stretches of time and in challenging situations

  • MCSE, Azure, Office 365 or Equivalent Certifications preferred

  • CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification

  • Able to travel 5-10% to VA/MD/DC area

Additional Desired Skills or Experience:

  • Expertise in cloud service delivery network models

  • Expertise in DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC-SRG) and SCCA Architectures including Cloud Access Point (CAP) architectures

  • Experience with MS Office 365 design, deployment and migration

  • Experience with managed service delivery models

  • Experience with hybrid and cloud service delivery models
