GDIT is seeking a Unified Communications (UC) Engineer for our National Cancer Institute (NCI) client in Rockville, MD.  The UC Senior Engineer's role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the voice and network systems that support core organizational functions.

You will help identify and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. This role will support a large UC cluster with 9,000 end devices and users.

Responsibilities and Job Functions:

  • Interact and troubleshoot with vendors
  • Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Ensure system connectivity and seamless integration of all voice and network related software/hardware
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews for modified and new systems
  • Monitor and test system performance, including preparing and delivering system performance statistics and reports
  • On-Call responsibilities, which includes after-hours maintenance
  • Other duties and projects as may be periodically requested by senior management

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS or equivalent in IT Management related field and five years related experience
  • Active Cisco certification (CCNA or CLCOR)
  • Proficiency with SIP routing
  • Experience providing Tier 3 end user support
  • Expertise with Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX/UCCE)
  • Experience with Cisco UCS C240 M4 Rack Server
  • Experience with Webex and Webex app
  • Must be able to obtain a NIH Public Trust
