Network Engineer Advisor

HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Node management, maintenance, and troubleshooting efforts for projects critical to the business
  • Respond to trouble tickets and performs troubleshooting on network devices
  • Maintain and administer network standards, documentation, processes, and procedures
  • Maintain and administer routers, switches, firewalls, and other network related devices
  • Work with other departments to activate services and assists with problem resolution as required
  • Effectively and quickly perform complex fault isolation and event correlation on all assigned network elements
  • Analyze chronic network imperfections for root cause source and recommend and appropriate corrective actions. Implement fix/correction as directed
  • Prepare written reports and other documentation necessary to communicate ideas, concepts, and details necessary to accomplish specific goals
  • Serve as the next level for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing IP related impairments
  • Perform training for fellow technical professionals and customers
  • Monitor and handle unscheduled and scheduled maintenance work
  • Validate and review all configurations changes going into core network/Backbone
  • Proactively/actively monitor all network related issues using all tools available
  • Provide design and architectural support for MPLS/Backbone network elements
  • Ability to craft effective methods and procedures for group procedures

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in computer information systems or equivalent experience

● Certifications: Must meet DoD 8570 requirements for IAT Level III Certification – CISSP, CASP CE, GCIH, or CISA, upon hire: Computing Environment Certification also required, i.e.; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Palo Alto ACE 8.1 (or higher) – Minimum; Prefer Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certified within 4 months after hire
● Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience
● Required Technical Skills: Working knowledge of MPLS; Multicast, BGP, OSPF, MPLS VPN's (Layer 2, Layer 3, VPLS, etc.) ISIS and RSVP
● Security Clearance Level: Must possess an interim Top Secret Security Clearance and be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
● Preferred Skills: Serve as the next level for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing IP related impairments: Perform training for fellow technical professionals and customers: Ability to craft effective methods and procedures for group procedures
