GDIT has a GREAT opportunity to join our project team in the development of an enterprise data management strategy for a large federal agency responsible for improving access to high-quality, coordinated health care services for underserved and medically vulnerable individuals.
The strategy will enable the agency to optimize the use of its data resources and enhance its decision-making process. The work will include analysis of the end-to-end lifecycle of data, from creation to retirement, and the controlled progression of data to and from each stage within its lifecycle. Our team will also assist the agency to establish the governance processes central to strategic planning.
Requires at least six years of general experience in information systems, including four years of specialized experience providing state-of-the art solutions in information systems technology with knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in all phases of database development as well as data management.
Functional Responsibility: Includes:
Provide expertise regarding business analysis, event modeling, logical and physical database design, data access analysis and design, DBMS optimization, archive and recovery strategy, load strategy design and implementation, security, and change management.
Support the development enterprise data management strategies, including the end-to-end lifecycle of data, from creation to retirement, and the controlled progression of data to and from each stage within its lifecycle.
Create and maintain Data Reference Models including the creation and maintenance of the DRM taxonomies to categorize data consistently and collectively
Support the development of cloud-native services, which automatically provision, scale, and operate the infrastructure and provide the application stack.
Use ServiceNow to automate the discovery of data elements across systems
Develop and integrate advanced technologies (e.g., AI, ML) to improve understanding of enterprise data structures
Support the design and implementation of relational databases including data modeling and data acquisition and access analysis and design, and archive, recovery, and load strategy design and implementation
Provide technical support and guidance to users; maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned; may serve as team or technical task lead and provide guidance and training to lower-level staff; participates in special projects as required
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – a must.
Collaboration across various stakeholders to develop enterprise data management strategies
Experience working in SQL Server and Oracle environments.
