We are hiring a Passive Engineer to join our team supporting JSP-ETM activities at the Pentagon.
At GDIT, people are our differentiator. The Passive Engineer supporting JSP ETM will work as part of the Rapid Response Team. This position is trusted to provide customer support to the client and will perform as back up to the Rapid Response Team Lead. In this role, a typical day will include:
Serve as technical lead for passive implementation projects.
Participate in and update Site Surveys as required to implement designed solutions
Provide guidance to and supervision of lower level Passive Engineers and Technicians
Provide technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration and/or enhancement of company technical products, programs and systems.
Provide expertise for resolving technical problems.
Modify products, programs and systems to customer requirements.
Serve as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
Provide end-user training.
Perform various tests and documents results
Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participate in special projects as required.
Ideal candidates should have an understanding of:
Pentagon infrastructure as well as its support infrastructure in the NCR (Belvoir, JBAB, MYER, McNair)
Voice network to include VOIP, VOSIP, Analog/ POTS, ISDN, and, DSL
all the classifications JSP supports (NIPR/ SIPR/ TS/ JWICS)
Basic active equipment logical pathway including switch, router, taclane, and how they connect.
At times, this high visibility team is required to work after hours with a short suspense, and short notice.
Candidates will be required to travel to offsite locations in the NCR to provide services and support
Active TS/SCI clearance
5+ years in related experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Ability to obtain a Government Courier Card to transport COMSEC, Classified Document and Materials
Computer savvy individual with a MS Office knowledge, in particular Word and Excel
Ability to navigate Tech Solutions, Project Folders, Rapid and Remedy databases, develop cut sheets and final documentation
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and support on-call tasks as needed environment
Team driven, and yet able to work independently as needed
Willing to work extended or after hours if critical task or business need rises
BICSI or RCDD Certification
Ability to navigate Adobe Acrobat and Visio
Ability to navigate Tech Solutions and Remedy
