At GDIT, people are our differentiator. This IT Program Manager will work with the DCD to serve as a transition and release manager. Provide Expert program management support to the customer to convert a highly complex legacy lotus notes system to a new service oriented architecture. The PM will be responsible for coordinating component releases and transitioning customers to the new system.

  • Serves as the release manager to ensure the deployment is coordinated, scheduled, documented, with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Plans and coordinate technical activities including data processing, information systems, systems analysis and software development.
  • Perform day to day management of the program and develop long term and strategic objectives to ensure that end users requirements will be satisfied.
  • Performs horizontal integration planning and interface with other functions al areas, ensuring that technical solutions and schedules are implemented.
  • Develop detailed transition schedules risk mitigations.
  • Assist in the development of documentation such as user manuals installation guides, administration manuals.
  • Provide status updates and metrics during the transition.
  • Working as part of a motivated, high-performing team
  • Lending expertise and institutional knowledge to less experienced engineers to improve the overall technical excellence of the team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading an effort to plan, schedule, and deploy a complex system to a large and diverse user base.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating long and short term plans including setting targets for milestones, and adhering to deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex Master Schedule.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with multiple groups to solve integration issues.
  • Demonstrated experience using PowerPoint and visio.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting in the definition of project scope and goals.
  • Demonstrated experience in making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with a project.
  • Demonstrated experience in using the agile methodology.
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience communicating with multiple groups to drive the way forward.

May serve as a mentor to less experienced analysts.

May serve as team or task lead. (Not a people manager)
