We are looking for an Implementation Engineer to join the Implementation Coordination and Control Center in our Annapolis Junction, MD office!

NOTE: This position is contingent upon contract award and funding.

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) is working on many projects supporting the installation of equipment to implement and sustain the DISN. The Implementation Request (IR) writer will analyze all GFI related to a particular implementation requirement or activity at the designated implementation site. This GFI includes, but is not limited to System Engineering Documents (SEDs), Site Planning and Design (SP&D), Circuit Planning & Design (CP&D), MSS, TSOs, Major Bill of Material (MBOM), Incidental Bill of Materials (IBOM), configuration standards, wavelength plans, and Site Build Lists (SBLs). IR Writer roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Identify, resolve, and provide options to resolve and/or escalate implementation activity issues to leadership that could affect overall project schedule
  • Be available, via phone or email to respond and answer questions from Project Managers, Logistics, Engineers and IE leadership on ongoing implementation activities
  • Coordinate with Engineers, Program Managers and others for properly completing the IR
  • Perform WMS queries to verify the availability of equipment required in support of the Implementation Request
  • Ensure IR Status is tracked and available to all stakeholders on SharePoint
  • Update MSS with required information as appropriate
  • Coordinate with Logistics personnel on the allocation of equipment and materials assigned to the IR
  • Coordinate actions necessary to support Expedited requests
  • Coordinate ASI and non-ASI implementation activities with DISA Global Operation Command (DGOC) personnel as well as with the node sites, installation vendors, and government installation teams.
  • Maintain current status of all implementation activities
  • Support the coordination and scheduling of logistical needs with the DISA warehouse
  • Forecast a 90-day schedule of implementation activities
  • Coordinate with site POCs to ensure receipt, acceptance, temporary storage, and securing of shipped assets
  • Review, analyze, and become technically astute on the DISA implementation process and associated documents (TSIP, MBOM listing, IBOM listing, Telecommunications Service Request (TSR)), Telecommunications Service Order (TSO), Telecommunications Request (TR), for asset deployment and receipt in support of the DoDIN.
  • Provide technical documentation and other administrative support for implementation activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Active (or Interim) DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance. Candidates without a clearance will be considered contingent upon their ability to complete the clearance process.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 2 years experience with implementation activities
  • Experience analyzing user needs and performing research and functional analysis 
  • Familiarity with DISA implementation
