General Dynamics Information Technology has an open opportunity for an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support a greenfield US Air Force program implementing an MLS solution across multiple sites. This includes (but is not limited to) the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Managing day-to-day Information Assurance (IA) and system security aspects including physical and environmental protection, incident handling, and information system security training and awareness

  • Supporting Information System Owner (ISO) in the development and maintenance of required IA documentation (System Security Plan [SSP]) and other related documents in accordance with customer identified applicable policies, procedures, and templates

  • Providing subject matter expertise in all cyber security initiatives and helping to explain new guidance

  • Drafting documentation needed to announce new cyber security initiatives and participating in building and implementing processes surrounding cyber security

  • Performing an active role in continuous monitoring to include reviewing system change requests for potential security impact, coordination of those changes with the change control authority, updating associated IA documentation and monitoring all changes to the system state and status from Initial Operating Capability (IOC) through Decommissioning

  • ISSO will be a focal point for Continuous Monitoring efforts and must demonstrate effective communication skills to support the required daily interaction with all identified IA stakeholders

  • Verifying all users requiring or requesting access to ISs, ensuring users have the requisite security clearance, authorization, need-to-know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before approving access to the IS

  • Supporting Incident Response (IR) actions and activities as requested

  • ISSO must possess a basic understanding of incident response and data spill management requirements

  • Controlling media handling, ensuring all media entering or exiting a facility is properly labeled, virus scanned, and approved prior to transferring date (uploading/downloading) between customer IS

  • Participating in special projects as required

ISSOs must possess a strong working knowledge of:

  • Information Assurance concepts, to include Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities

  • Documented security policies and best practices

  • Standard technical security safeguards

  • Operational Security (OpSec) measures

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience 

  • 5-8+ years of related experience in data security administration

  • Position requires a TS/SCI (DCID 6/4 eligible) clearance

  • The candidate must be willing to take a CI polygraph

  • Employment will be contingent until candidate is deemed eligible for SAP access by the government customer

  • CompTIA IAT III Certification required 

  • Willing to travel up to 25%

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
