GDIT is seeking a .NET Application Developer to join our team supporting the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of their Corporate Business Systems (CBSOM).

As the Application Programmer, you will provide application support for numerous business applications. You will support DOE’s Corporate Business Systems, used by over 14,000 users to fulfill the agency’s mission to promote energy independence, progress scientific research, and protect the nation through nuclear security.  

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Modify existing software, as well as create special-purpose software to ensure efficiency and integrity between systems and applications. 
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems.
  • Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
  • Works with Business Analyst and Application Architect to interpret Business Requirements into a Technical Solution
  • Applies advanced knowledge and provides guidance to all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Applies advanced knowledge and provides guidance for software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needs.
  • Produce software design and architecture
  • Develop and test new and existing software applications based on business requirements and industry best practices
  • Applies extensive knowledge of relational database concepts and collaborates with DBA(s) to ensure application data service availability
  • Develop technical documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Collaborates with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Collaborates with customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects.
  • Investigates and develops solutions for identified application problems
  • Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support
  • Ability to leverage existing and emerging technologies

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business, or other related discipline with 5 years of increasingly responsible and relevant experience in SQL, Visual Studio, .NET and Appian development expertise.  Without a degree 8-10 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience in full software development life cycle (SDLC) including design, testing, deployment, documentation, and support activities
  • Expertise with the development and support of web-based applications, service-oriented architecture, and database systems
  • Excellent working knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, .NET/4.6, SQL Server
  • Experience working with JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience in REST APIs and WCF
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • US Citizenship

Desired Qualifications:

  • ITIL v3 or v4 certification
  • Experience with ServiceNow for incident management, problem management, and service request management
  • Previous Department of Energy experience.
  • Ability to analyze a range of business and functional requirements to recommend optimal solutions
  • Experience using UI frameworks
  • Experience integrating applications with SharePoint or Office 365
  • Experience with Microsoft DevOps
  • Experience with unit test development or test-driven development
  • Knowledge of Bootstrap
  • MCSD certification
