Guard Enterprise Cyber Operations Support (GECOS) – Linux Admin

GDIT has an opening for a Linux Admin position supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) in Chantilly, VA. This is an IT Service Management contract in support of the operation, modernization, expansion, and further evolution of the ARNG’s global Information Technology (IT) services including networking, compute, storage, infrastructure, applications, hosting, and program management services.  The GECOS program supports the ARNG enterprise IT infrastructure, its Wide Area Network (WAN), authentication and directory services, cybersecurity, application hosting, and associated services. GECOS uses ITIL best practices framework as the basis for IT Service Management (ITSM) model.

The Linux Admin will:

  • Be responsible for the full life cycle process of hardware and software within the DoDIN-A(NG).
  • Maintain the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) to collect and aggregate IDS/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) data from network sensors and raw data from collection agents, firewalls, proxy servers, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), antivirus, vulnerability scanner elements, and other security‐relevant devices.
  • Interface enterprise and systems information into the SIEM.
  • Monitor operational state of compliance scanning tools.
  • Perform server maintenance and software upgrades supporting scanning tools.
  • Install or modify network security elements, tools, and other systems as required to maintain optimal coverage and performance, as approved by the Government.
  • Create and maintain standard tool maintenance design documentation and test plans for new and existing applications and hardware to avoid obsolescence and improve productivity for the user community and Government leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years system and cyber tool integration and automation
  • Experience administrating Linux servers
  • Experience administrating Microsoft Server 2016 / 2019
  • Possess the appropriate baseline certifications to achieve DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II (CompTIA Security+ or higher)
  • Possess the appropriate computing environment certifications to achieve DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II (Microsoft OS, Linux OS, or Cyber certifications)
  • An active SECRET DoD clearance
