GDIT is seeking on behalf of a government client a warehouse maintenance technician to support tactical continuity and emergency readiness in a Manassas, VA facility. Be responsible for maintaining facility warehouse equipment and vehicle fleet. You will also be responsible for assisting the loading/unloading of equipment in event of emergency response. The individual should be driven and able to work independently with little supervision. Responsibilities may include the following:
Perform daily inspection of warehouse facility, equipment, and vehicle fleet.
Schedules periodic maintenance of mobile communications, logistic support, and emergency response vehicles. Maintains operational readiness of mobile support vehicle fleet to include holding current CDL class B license.
Assist with the loading and unloading of telecommunications equipment that support the contingency mission.
Tests and operates mobile diesel generator to support power requirements for mobile communications systems.
Coordinates system level repair and restoration efforts of all facility electrical, HVAC, water, lighting systems requiring third party support.
Performs minor repairs and maintenance to facility systems.
Maintains a safe and clean environment
Assemble and test facility storage furnishing equipment
Operation of forklift for loading and unloading equipment
Maintains a preventative maintenance program for facility systems and equipment
Assists team with equipment testing
Desired Qualification Skills:
2-5 years of related warehouse maintenance experience
Knowledge of OSHA compliant workplace safety practices
Forklift experience/operator certificate
Ability to obtain CDL class B license
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Familiar with various of hand tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performance of duties
Experience with electrical maintenance/systems
Experience with facilities maintenance/systems
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Good interpersonal and communications skills
Willingness/aptitude to learn how to operate telecommunications systems is a plus
Associate Degree in related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
