GDIT is seeking an associate level Audio / Visual Technician to provide AV meeting support for customers at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Rockville, MD.  In this role, you will provide technical support and customer service to staff and/or visitors for 60+ conference rooms at the NCI Medical Center Drive building.  You will be part of a 10+ person team supporting daily meetings and conference room testing/troubleshooting.

Exceptional customer service, as well as written and verbal communication skills, are key in this customer facing role where you work with customers to understand what AV technologies are needed for various meetings at the NCI; and then set up, troubleshoot, and support those needs for teleconferencing equipment, computers, cameras, microphones, etc. 

Position is for full time employment with GDIT and will be based at the client's office in Rockville MD (Shady Grove).  You will work a 40-hour per week schedule, providing coverage around the core hours of Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM-:6:00 PM.  Occasional overnight and weekend work will be needed for planned for international meetings that require support during off hours.

  • Provide daily conference room checks: verify all equipment is online, functioning and charged
  • Provide daily meeting support: hands on technical support resource for customers for all conference room meeting needs, including Video, Audio, and WebEx, Room computer connectivity, laptop connectivity
  • Support customers during meetings, including video teleconferencing, video display of laptops and/or room computer presentations, WebEx setup, etc.
  • Log all transactions with customers in ServiceNow

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma and minimum of one year of experience
  • Experience supporting telephony, video, network and/or other collaboration devices
  • Experience providing customer service and end user support
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve A/V issues
  • Strong proven record learning new technologies and support
  • Ability to able to lift 40-50lbs and to work with cabling and equipment under tables and in equipment racks.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Four years of technical support experience in audio/visual technologies
  • Associates or Bachelors degree is preferred
  • Experience using ticketing system (prefer ServiceNow) is preferred
  • Cisco Telepresence endpoints
  • Tandberg Video Conferencing systems
  • WebEx
  • Cisco MeetingPlace, Presence, Unity Connection, Enterprise Instant Messaging (Cisco Jabber)
