Job Description: Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to complex problems.
Monitors network hardware and software operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
Designs and coordinates the installation and acceptance testing of the network systems and components.
Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks
Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability
Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations; and isolates, resolves, or circumvents network problems.
Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
Performs cost/benefit studies of network configurations and recommends enhancements.
Coordinates the acquisition installation, and testing of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Provides daily supervision and direction to staff.
Minimum Clearance:  Secret

Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) is required. CCIE may be any type (e.g., Collaboration, Routing and Switching, Security, or Service Provider. etc)

DoDD 8570.01M IAT II baseline certification required.

TESA eligibility/certification required.

Required Experience: This position requires a minimum of 10 years experience, of which at least four years must be specialized:
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering, configuring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure.
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering, configuring, and troubleshooting MPLS
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance.
Three years additional applicable experience may be substituted for a degree.
