For the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), GDIT provides enterprise IT services for DHS’s biometric identity management system (IDENT) and the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) to store, match, share, and analyze biometric and biographic data in support of DHS’s strategic mission. GDIT’s O&M services support break-fix of current OBIM functional capabilities, as well as security remediation activities and developmental engineering (such as prototyping new code or configurations of OBIM functionality). GDIT is looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect to support the program's Engineering & Design Team. The primary responsibility of the Enterprise Architect is to lead the way in architecture, design and implementation of new solutions for the Enterprise IDENT environment.  This role will be responsible for architecture and design of both the production and non-production environment. This role will also be responsible for managing small to medium sized engineering efforts to ensure successful completion.

Other specific responsibilities include but are limited to:
• Provides high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff
• Develops architectural products and deliverables for the enterprise and operational business lines
• Advises on selection of technological purchases, with regards to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development
• Sets standards for the client/server relational database structure for the organization
• Advises of feasibility of potential future projects to management
• Tracks current plans that will require IT resources
• Monitors and reviews the success of systems and ensures efficiency and effectiveness
• Recommends future computer system technologies that will help in the improvement of business in the organization
• Integrates IT solution systems for the business with the existing client systems

Required Skills / Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizeship
• DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability
• Bachelors degree and 10+ years relevant experience, or equivalent

Desired Skills / Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or information systems field of study plus 12 yrs of directly relevant experience
• 15+ years of relevant experience
• Prefer prior experience with IDENT [preferred years of “directly relevant” experience]
• Experince in IT requirements gathering, scope definition, analysis, design, and implementation efforts
• Experience with working with datacenters and understanding their process and procedures
• Understanding of IT Infrastructure, Networking, and SAN
