Our work depends on an Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer joining our team to remotely support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) activities.
At GDIT, we foster a people-centric environment. As a Sr. QA Engineer supporting CMS, you will be trusted to manage long-term IT engineering projects, perform engineering design evaluations and work to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. You will develop, implement, and monitor information systems policies and controls to ensure adherence to data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. You will review reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine and address problems. In this role, a typical day will include:
Creating and managing infrastructure using various AWS cloud services
Creating automation scripts for provisioning, decommissioning, deploying services, and patching
Understanding and contributing solutions within the system architecture
Delivering continuous improvement of scripts and templates for reproducible deployments
Working with AWS support to escalate the problems to find the product limitation solutions
Identifying potential scaling issues and help define how to monitor and fix them
Participating in release activities and an on-call rotation in a 24x7x365 environment
Working as a team member in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of AWS Cloud experience as a System Engineer
Experience with AWS service offerings
Experience supporting a 24x7 Internet-oriented enterprise production environment, preferably across multiple data centers, involving at least hundreds of servers
Scripting experience such as shell, Python working on common Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Solaris, etc.)
Experience with Git version management servers
Experience with proactive monitoring of enterprise environments using technologies, such as NewRelic and/or Splunk
Thorough understanding of fundamental internet protocols such as DNS, HTTP, and/or TCP
Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
Must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.
US citizen or a Green Card holder
AWS DevOps certification(s)
Experience with Agile methodologies
AWS Experience using AWS FedRamp services
Experience with F5
Healthcare or CMS experience

The likely salary range for this position is $77,875 - $130,062, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
