Manage a deeply technical contract that provides network engineering and operational support for a high-impact, fast-paced customer. Track contract details and ensure CDRLs are submitted in a timely manner. Manage employee performance to ensure customer mission is met. Ensure each project follows project management lifecycle, to include requirements definition, system design, system test, deployment and O&M. Communicate with and manage a widely dispersed group of personnel, some of whom may be matrixed across multiple programs. Provide customer with frequent feedback on the status of many projects running concurrently. Track contract financials to ensure labor, ODCs and other expenditures do not exceed funding.
Required and Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or similar technical field, or equivalent work experience. Ability to understand complex technical concepts and explain them to a less-technical audience. Strong communication skills and excellent judgement are a must. Experience managing projects from inception to deployment and beyond. Demonstrated superior people skills, with an ability to appropriately manage customer expectations.
Preferred: Experience designing, building and/or managing networked systems. Understanding of customer’s operational tradecraft. Experience supporting customer field operations in a delicate environment. Experience handling customer’s unique brand of security issues. Experience as a customer staffer, as well as experience in technical operations.
10+ years’ experience and/or bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related field.
