HOW SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR EXPERT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Perform complex systems design work supporting PKI initiatives.
• Prototype and demonstrate PKI solutions for the USPTO
• Develop and update procedure and policy to support USPTO identity initiatives.
• Produce architecture documentation for new USPTO systems.
• Serve as a liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met
• Maintain current knowledge of federal PKI standards and relevant technology.
• Collaborate with many USPTO teams to develop and implement PKI solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

• BA/BS or related degree

Required Experience:

• 10+ years general IT or development experience

Required Technical Skills:

• 2+ years architecting and/or implementing PKI solutions.​

Security Clearance Level

• U.S. Citizen with ability to secure a Public Trust Clearance

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Experience leading feature design and integration of commercial software for production environments. Strong understanding of PKI concepts concerning certificate-based authentication and TLS encryption.
• Network and system administration experience in Windows workstation and server environments.
• Able to multitask several activities, and carry out tasks on your own
• Experience with installation, management, and upgrades of PKI components such as CAs, HSMs, CMS, Directories, CRLs, VAs and OCSPs.
• Strong knowledge of HSPD-12, the requirements of FIPS-201 and other documents referenced for HSPD-12.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues that arise in an enterprise infrastructure
• Ability to implement SSL in Windows and Linux environments
• Hardware Security Module (HSM) administration
• Experience designing Certificate Policies and Certificate Practice Statements
• In-depth knowledge of PKI
• Experience deploying and managing an enterprise Certificate Authority.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with the updated FIPS 201-3 standard
• Prior experience working with PKI in a federal or state environment.
• Prior experience working within an Enterprise Identity Management System
• NDES/SCEP or Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS) experience.​

The likely salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
