And our work depends on a Customer Services and Information Technology Officer joining our team to support Government activities at McLean or Warrenton, Virginia At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Systems (network) Engineer directly supporting the customer, you will be trusted to provide both critical technical support in addressing complicated network/systems engineering issues and delivering exceptional customer service. In this role a typical day will include:
Working as part of a motivated, high-performing team
Resolving critical systems/network issues that negatively impact the customer's mission
Collaborating with teammates and government customers to identify process improvements
Lending expertise and institutional knowledge to less experienced engineers to improve the overall technical performance of the team
Designing and defining system architecture for new or existing computer systems
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Minimum of 10 years related experience.
Technical Skills Required: Experience Microsoft Exchange- install/config and O&M; Microsoft System Center 2012- install/config and O&M; Knowledge of fundamental networking concepts; experience with Cisco networking equipment and Cisco IOS/NX-PS; Experience working in a virtualized infrastructure environment (VMware vSphere/vCenter); Windows Server 2012. Please note: Occasional late-night or weekend work in support of maintenance activities (e.g. recycles, upgrades, migrations); There is no regular requirement for on-call/pager/weekend duty, but given the standalone nature of our network, engineering is subject to call-in for emergency issues; Required OCONUS Travel 2-5 times annually.
