GDIT currently has a 56+ person team providing systems development, operational and infrastructure support, and application support to the Administrative Systems Office (ASO) of the Administrative Office of the US Courts. The GDIT team is currently seeking a SharePoint Functional Business Analyst who thrives in a dynamic work environment. This role involves working with all stakeholders (including business leaders and end users) to analyze business needs, working with the Lead SharePoint developer to design appropriate solutions in an agile environment, and ensuring that solutions meet stakeholder expectations.
This role will perform site analysis, design, develop, implement, and maintain Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) SharePoint migrations from legacy on-premises into SharePoint Online and SharePoint Initiatives. The ideal SharePoint Functional Business Analyst candidate needs to be a proven self-starter who is thorough in their work and thrives in a team environment yet requires limited supervision.
Responsibilities include the following:
Functions as a technical expert across multiple project teams and across functional units (where appropriate), while serving as the key coordinator between customers and multiple project teams to document and implement new initiatives.
Analyze and document business processes to help identify how SharePoint can meet those requirements.
Work with the Lead SharePoint Developer and User Experience (UX) analysts to design appropriate solutions and be a liaison between IT and stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet stakeholder expectations.
Create functional requirements and maintain project documentation to ensure business requirements are accurately recorded.
Assist with minor customization tasks of SharePoint sites.
Participates in team and client interactions, possibly with more senior team members, to develop SharePoint solutions suited to specific business needs.
Provide SharePoint technologies training and best practice guidance to business leaders and end users.
Provide Tier 1 response for end user support requests received through the AO service desk; escalate tickets as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems Technology or related field with 10+ years of experience (or a Master’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems Technology or related field and 8+ years of experience).
3-5+ years of Business Analyst experience including: writing requirements documents, working with SharePoint technologies.
Define functional requirements that can be used to propose technical solutions. Review existing solutions to avoid redundancy.
Recommend functional solutions including sites, pages, lists, libraries, dashboards, and workflows supporting business processes and functions.
Mapping the as-is process and translating the process into to-be requirements.
Working with a dynamic team to refine and expand the solutions based upon user’s feedback.
Analyzing and verifying business requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and testability.
Collecting and analyzing the project’s business requirements and transferring the same knowledge to the development team.
Experience working in JIRA, Agile (SCRUM/Kanban) software development methodologies.
Proficiency with Technical Writing, Analytical Ability, Problem Solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint 2013/2016 On-Prem, SharePoint Online, O365 and Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
Able to understand existing systems and change priorities quickly and have a capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
