Systems Engineer Expert

Our work depends on Systems Engineer Expert joining our team to maintain the operational health of two Business Process Management (BPM) environments supporting production applications, perform WebSphere administration to manage the application cluster nodes and maintain JVM, data source and authentication configurations, and perform AWS administration of the virtual private clouds to maintain the optimal and efficient usage of computing capacity.

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER EXPERT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems
  • Perform regular patch updates to Linux, WebSphere, Java, BPM, Kibana and Oracle RDS
  • Perform monitoring and review of cloud resources, system, audit and application logging and performance using tools such as Kibana and Splunk
  • Monitor configurations and make updates to correct and strengthen the overall security of the platforms 
  • Use application performance management tools to evaluate and troubleshoot application errors and interface issues 
  • Continuously contribute to team performance improvement and collaboration
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science, Computer Science (or related field)
  • Required Experience: 15+ years of related experience 
  • Required Technical Skills:
  • Advanced skills and experience with Linux System Administration
  • Advanced skills and experience with IBM WebSphere Administration (e.g., cluster configuration)
  • Strong skills and experience with AWS cloud computing services (e.g., VPC, EC2, ELB, S3, RDS)
  • Strong experience implementing security best practices and access control standards for application hosting environments
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Planning and performing IBM software upgrades and testing to transition to the IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) product
  • Planning and performing IBM upgrades and testing to support transition from Linux 7 to Linux 8
  • Using application performance management tools to evaluate and troubleshoot application errors and interface issues 
  • Maintaining account credentials and certificates used to authenticate and authorize enterprise directory and enterprise data source integration

Preferred Skills:

  • IBM Certified WebSphere Administrator
  • IBM Certified RedHat Linux Adminstrator
  • IBM Certified Deployment Professional BPM or BAW
