Senior Systems Engineer - Windows

At GDIT, our people are our differentiator.  Our work depends on a Senior Systems Engineer of Windows systems environments joining our team to support one of our Federal Government customers.  As a Senior Systems Engineer – Windows, you will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all Windows environments and have the overall responsibility of designing, implementing, and integrating as well as providing ongoing support of the Windows Infrastructure under this contract.

• Perform advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
• Engineer, integrate, design and deploy various Windows components
• Create and maintain bare-metal and virtual machines
• Create baselines for Windows Server 2016/2019 or higher
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
• Evaluate, improve, and maintain the information security throughout the Windows infrastructure
• Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures for all systems
• Provide Level IV support
• May serve as a team or task lead and coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals

Required Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or equivalent certification
• Sound knowledge in Active Directory, Group Policy, digital certificates, multi factor integration, DNS and DHCP
• Experience using tools that include Windows Deployment Services, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, System Center Configuration Manager, Hyper-V, SQL Server, Windows 2016/2019, Windows 10 and 11
• Proficient understanding of networks, storage, and LAN/WAN systems and applications as well as their dependencies.  Knowledge of TCP/IP, subnet masks, routing, SMTP
• BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 10+ years of experience
• An active Top Secret Clearance
