At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Data Analyst supporting the Customer, a typical day will include:

  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Manage master data, including creation, updates, and deletion
  • Structure large data sets to find usable information using Information Technology
  • Process confidential data and information according to guidelines
  • Design, develop, implement and databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Make predictions based on data trends
  • Assess tests and implement new or upgraded software and assist with strategic decisions on new systems
  • Help establish key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of business decisions
  • Monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements
  • Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analyst if necessary
  • Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization
  • Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance
  • Assist with establishing and prioritizing business and information needs
  • Conduct full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design
  • Define new data collection and analysis processes
  • Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata
  • Provide technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
  • 10 years experience
  • Proven working experience as a Data Analytics/Administrator for Top Secret mission critical systems and networks
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL
  • Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding
  • Understanding of data and schema standards and concepts
  • Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools
  • Familiarity with programming languages APIs
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant government regulations and standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant government regulations and standards
  • Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance, with Polygraph
