The Special Security Technician will provide support to the Program Manager and the Government USSPACECOM J2 Staff.  The position will:

  • Assist the Special Security Officer (SSO) to ensure control of access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI Facilities (SCIFs) including: certifying and receiving daily SCI visitor clearances and accesses; conducting daily SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, debriefings, training on classified material / SSO-related material and topics; obtaining signed nondisclosure agreements; and providing guidance and assistance for processing SCI position and eligibility requests for assigned military, Government and contractor personnel.
  • Serve as a Controlled Access Program (CAP) security specialist for lifecycle program protection management for USSPACECOM and implements protocols to actively reduce the chances for espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure or compromise of information or material considered vital to command mission interests, national defense, or national security.
  • Develop, implement, and integrate CAP program protection requirements supporting USSPACECOM essential program information, operations,technologies,and systems. As the CAP / Special Access Program (SAP) / Special Access Required (SAR) subject matter expert, provides detailed knowledge of DoD, IC, services, and mission partners' CAP/SAP/SAR policies, plans, and procedures. Recommends and executes"cradle to grave" security and program protection as it relates to USSPACECOM operations and equities.
  • Train and manage the daily development of associated personnel on individual CAP / SAP program protection requirements and processes as directed. Provides all CAP / SAP / SAR security operations, analysis decisions, and recommendations in appropriate formats to meet DoD and USSPACECOM requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)

Desired Qualifications

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of experience

The likely salary range for this position is $51,085 - $85,301, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
