Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Assists with building automation and CICD pipeline for Infrastructure as a Code and Network as a Code, based on Ansible, Terraform, AWS Cloudformation and Azure Resource Manager templates.
Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, Fortinet firewalls, remote access systems, and cloud networks.
Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
Creates plans and configures systems for data communication and cloud networks.
Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
BA/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems Management, or other related field;
10 + years of experience in Enterprise Networking;
5+ years of experience with Cloud PaaS and/or IaaS (Azure, AWS) networking;
Solid understanding of client/server, networking and Internet technologies;
Knowledge of networking technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPBGP, MPLS VPNs, VxLAN, Multicast;
Knowledge of DMVPN, IPSEC and Encryption Standards, Network Security;
Ability to pass a Public Trust Security Clearance;
Must have network and firewall engineering experience with designing, implementation, and maintaining Layer 2 and 3 networking devices and/or firewall devices such as Juniper, Dell, Cisco, Fortinet, or Palo Alto;
Expertise managing, configuring and testing Fortinet products (Fortigate, Fortimanager, FortiAnalyzer);
Knowledge of AWS and Azure architectural principles and key networking services such as AWS Global infrastructure, VPC, S3, EC2, Route 53, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect MS Azure VNet, VNet-Peering, Private Link, vWAN, Express Route, Firewall, Load Balancer;
Experience leading small interorganizational teams toward a common goal Experience in next-generation technologies including: Zero Trust, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Software Defined Networking (SDN), Multicloud, and/or Multi-access Edge Compute (MEC), particularly in a Managed Services (MSP) or Telecommunications/Service Provider setting;
Experience with Information Assurance (IA) hardening and compliance (STIG, CIS, DSS compliance, documentation, etc.) ;
Experience with racking and stacking new equipment and ensuring environmental, electrical, and facility requirements are met;
Experience in fault isolation, repair and resolution, and documenting root cause analysis (RCA) for reported trouble tickets;
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code: Ansible, Terraform, AWS Cloudformation, or Azure RM templates;
Knowledge on Cloud Networking and Security best practices: Public (AWS and Azure) and Private (Kubernetes) Cloud Technologies is desirable;
Practitioner-level network automation skills using DevOps and CI/CD pipeline practices: Python or Shell Scripting, YAML etc.;
CCNP / CCIE certification desired;
AWS or Microsoft networking certifications highly desirable
The likely salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
