GDIT is seeking a Mid-Senior Network Engineer to help support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) program at the National Gateway Center (NGC) in Fort Detrick, MD. NOTE: Due to the type of access this role entails, this is full time, onsite position. Telecommuting is not allowed.
The Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain large and complex network systems, and provide technical leadership in the planning, investigation, design, and implementation of physical and logical communications solutions having network-wide impact.
Job Responsibilities include:
Provides design and engineering for various platforms related the Defense Information System Agency (DISA).
Performs duties as a Network and System Engineer for the Organizational Messaging Services (OMS) networks and hardware at the National Gateway Center (NGC).
Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting Cisco and Palo Alto network devices and experience with network monitoring tools.
Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
Hands-on experience in network security to include: STIGs, Device Hardening, IDS, Firewalls, IPSec, Vulnerability assessment and intrusion detection
Performs analysis of data networks, architectural design, integration testing and provides installation support for the customer at the NGC and remote sites.
Performs testing and evaluates network technology to establish baselines for both hardware and software.
Provides support for network integration and installation projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Active DoD Top Secret clearance WITH special SCI Eligibility Access
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work-related experience
Must have a current DoD IAT 8570 Level II Baseline Certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CSA+ or CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work related experience
Palo Alto Firewall experience
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining network systems
Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network devices
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Active TS/SCI security clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
Technical skills with one or more of the following: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, SNMP, ACLs, MPLS, WAN, MAN
