GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a Logistician supporting our Far East Regional Support Center at Camp Humphreys, South Korea. Must have a current and active Secret clearance. This position is responsible for the overall supply chain management and requires an individual who is self-motivated, suitably experienced, qualified, and able to follow instructions clearly but also able to make command decisions on the spot in order to achieve the aims of the organization.
Note - Most logisticians work during regular business hours. When dealing with delivery problems or other logistical issues, they may work adjusted hours to ensure that operations stay on schedule.
Plan and manage logistics, inventory, transportation, and customer services.
Direct the movement of a range of goods and supplies, from common consumer goods to military supplies.
Oversee activities including purchasing, shipping and transportation, inventory, warehousing, and delivery.
Ensure the delivery of products on time and to the right location.
Redesign the movement of goods to maximize value and minimize costs.
Provide material handling coordination support to include shipping, receiving, storage, and disposition of property.
Inspect inbound inventory for defects or notable damage and logs/reports issues.
Data entry, research and documentation of receiving issues.
Prepare inventory for shipping, loading of pallets, generating documentation, resolve inventory-tracking problems.
Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
Develop business relationships with suppliers and customers.
Develop an understanding of organizational and customer needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are met.
Develop inventory control processes to account for property received, shipped, excessed, moved or transferred.
Develop proposals that include documentation for estimates.
Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
Design strategies to minimize the cost or time required to move goods.
Collaborate with various sections as necessary to meet organization and customer requirements.
Explain proposed solutions to customers, management, or other interested parties through written proposals and oral presentations.
Manage supplier/subcontractor activities, reviewing proposals, developing performance specifications, and serving as liaisons between suppliers/subcontractors and the organization.
Maintain strong attention to detail.
Maintain a positive attitude and work as a member of a cohesive team as well as independently.
Review the success of logistical functions and identify areas for improvement.
Interact with vendors to obtain information to reconcile inventory discrepancies.
Handle unforeseen issues, such as delivery problems, and adjust plans as needed to resolve the issues.
Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements.
May be required to travel to multiple locations within South Korea.

The Ideal Candidate must have:
Must have an active U.S. Government SECRET clearance.
BA or equivalent and 3 years related experience.
(One year of contracting or military service may be substituted for one year of academic requirements to fulfill the bachelor's degree requirement.
Extensive knowledge and/or certifications in Standard Army Management Information System (STAMIS), Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) and automated procurement management systems.
Valid driver's license.
Proven experience working as a logistician.
Ability to perform several tasks at one time, keep detailed records, and simultaneously manage several projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent mathematical ability and ability to think critically.
Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to meet internal paperwork requirements.
Calmness under pressure.
