General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is looking for a Systems Engineer in Wilkes-Barre PA to join our team supporting the USPS.

 

As a Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Providing Systems Engineering technical support.
  • Support systems engineering data design reviews.
  • Perform requirements assessments and requirements decomposition.
  • Model system behavior through functional flows and functional descriptions.
  • Support the development of interface control documents and interface description documents.
  • Support the development of systems engineering presentations and reports.

A minimum of five (5) years of API gateway development and administration including on-prem hardware and software based gateways including the following activities:
- XML/JSON web-service exposure
- RESTful API exposure
- authentication and authorization enforcement using HTTP Authorization and OAuth2 client protocols
- authentication and authroziation enforcement using SSL certificate / 2-Way Mutual SSL protocol
- integration with Active Directory using Kerberos, SAML, and LDAP
- integration with proprietary user registries via web-service APIs
- integration with message queueing infrastructure (JMS providers, IBM MQ, Kafka)
- complex rate limit enforcement based upon request payload content, client system credentials, and end-user credentials
- integration with unified logging facilities (syslog-ng)
- request and response transformation for payload conversions between mix of XML, JSON, plain text, and binary
- protocol conversions between HTTPS, MQ, SCP, FTP
- proactive transactional performance, utilization, and health monitoring
- gateway maintenance and management automation

 

A minimum of five (5) years of  web-service related development for both client- and server- code including the following activities:
- XML and JSON web service consumer implementation (Java EE 7 or later)
- XML Document XPath based data extraction
- XML and JSON Schema construction
- TLS based connection establishment with application-specific trust-store and key-store data
- Multi-Threaded process implementation and debugging
- Clustered process implementation with inter-node coordination
- Continuous Integration implementation including comprehensive regression test and validation processes of XML and JSON web-services and RESTful services.

 

A minimum of five (5) years of fundamental network analysis encompassing OSI layers 4 “Transport”, 5 “Session”, 6 “Presentation” and 7 “Application”
- Special focus on TCP/IP and UDP/IP based protocols
- Network packet capture and analysis
- SSL/TLS protocol capture and analysis
- Public Key based encryption, certificate and key management, and digitial signature processing

 

A minimum of five (5) years of utilizing software configuration management systems including use of branch and merge activities (Subversion, GIT), providing direct support to and production incident handling including:
- immediate resolution in coordination with related and affected applications and groups
- research into root cause, regression validation of status of cause in non-production systems
- documentation of incident including impact to all systems, immediate mitigations, and methods to prevent recurrence

 

A minimum of three (3) years providing direct support to immediate and senior management in form of technical advice, architecture planning, technical solution feasibility for new business requirements

 

A minimum of three (3) years executing independent technical research and assessment of technology products resulting in:
- assessment of technical appropriateness to specific problems or application to business requirements
- high level and technical design for implementation and integration with existing systems
- production support requirements assessment
- development and production support resource requirements breakdown
- initial task breakdown for development and implementation

 

Strong knowledge in several of the following qualifications:
• Facilitate design of business information systems that meet stakeholder requirements and are optimal solutions within cost and performance.
• Facilitate designs that strengthen application core performance.
• Knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies
• Ability to prepare cost estimates
• Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices
• Effective liaison between business and technical teams
• Strong facilitation skills to effectively lead discussions across multiple groups
• Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc)
• Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
• Capacity Planning
• Project Management / Project Planning
