Supports customer logistics requirements through the analysis, organization, planning, and administration of various phases of day-to-day transportation management. Performs functions related to the effective routing, delivery, and cost of commercial shipments and executing order delivery in alignment with customer contractual requirements.
Oversee all GSE & SE inbound/outbound logistics services, including local delivery, will call coordination, commercial freight arrangements and tracking, and project delivery coordination.
Manage a team of 3 analysts to complete the daily tasks.
Ensure compliance with all Government laws and regulations associated with the shipment of freight, including FAR requirements, Export Administration Regulations, ITAR regulations, and Dangerous Goods regulations (IATA, DOT, IMO).
Develop, manage, and maintain accounts with freight forwarders, express carriers, and ground freight specialists.
Manage billing issues for inbound and outbound freight. Work with finance department for billing clarifications.
Identify process improvements / recommendations aimed at making our programs run more efficiently and/or effectively.
Provide customer feedback and guidance to make logistics program decisions and advise customer of shipping disruptions and resolutions.
Develops logistics process and procedures; maintains all internal SOPs and work instructions.
Submit monthly reports for Logistics and Transportation Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the assigned program in accordance contract requirements.
BA/BS (or equivalent experience) and 8+ years of experience in logistics and transportation management. Military experience will be considered. 12+ years of experience without degree.
Active Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain)
Previous experience in Freight Forwarding, International Shipping, and a plus
Previous experience utilizing ERP and WMS applications preferred
Candidate must be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and someone who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
