Job Description

NET Software Team Lead

Lead the development of cutting-edge applications that help advance the mission of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) as a .NET Software Team Lead at GDIT. Your work will have you fully immersed in our client’s domain in order to deliver simple solutions for their complex needs. At GDIT, you’ll prioritize the client while we prioritize your career.

Our work depends on a .NET Software Team Lead joining our team to ensuring the quality and reliability of the software solutions we deliver to enable our client’s mission of seeking fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability.


  • Support a development team’s activities for writing clean, maintainable, testable, and extensible code
  • Contribute to all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, and Testing)
  • Collaborate with the team on Agile activities, including to estimation, iterative planning and retrospectives
  • Manage code and other artifacts using Github or other code repositories


  • Education: BS or equivalent degree in a technical field
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience with 2 or more in a lead role. 5 + years .NET Full-Stack Software Developer experience with Microsoft Technology Stacks
  • Technical skills: Minimum of five years of experience using Microsoft’s .NET platform including C# and ASP.NET; JavaScript; Azure DevOps (formerly Team Foundation Server); Continuous Integration (CI); Automated testing ( e.g. unit testing ); experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Security clearance level: Must be able to obtain an NIH Public Trust
  • Skills and abilities: Able to work with development teams to work across the life-cycle so teams can consistently deliver high-quality software.  Ability to think systemically about how the software is built to guide those systems to be most effective.
  • Location: Hybrid (telework/Rockville customer location)

***Selected candidate must be relatively local to the Rockville, MD area for regular onsite meetings***

Desired Skills:

·        Experience with C# with Windows Forms, C++, and Objective C

·        Experience with React and Vue

·        Experience with git

·        Experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
