The Threat Management Specialist (TMS) is a security professional who provides analytical threat management (TM) support and operational security analysis to the Threat Management Team (TMT).  The TMT helps ensure the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and information primarily, but not exclusively, relating to the customer HQ and its environs. Threat Management Specialist tasks include:

  • Conduct all-source research as required to fully support the TMT - collect and consolidate threat information from a variety of classified/official, and open-sources for review and approval by the USG
  • Analyze cross-source information to identify and project patterns and trends
  • Meet  with federal, state, and local agencies to discuss cases, issues,  lessons learned and training, and provide recommendations to customer decision-makers
  • Utilize and maintain threat tools and databases – ensure completeness and accuracy of information
  • Write logical, well-constructed reports, adhering to an approved style and format and clearly documenting all findings and research
  • Maintain the hard copy and soft copy of TMT files and related database records
  • Make recommendations to the Government for consideration in the drafting of future policy and guidance
  • Prepare and present TMT status reports
  • Support the preparation and delivery of informational and instructional briefings to customer and approved third parties, as approved by USG
  • Conduct Washington Metropolitan Area travel in support of the Threat Management Program as approved by the USG
  • At Government direction, conduct market research and attend TM and TM-related conferences, symposiums, working groups, task forces, and like forums to gather information to ensure customer currency with TM tools, standards, processes, and practices
  • Meet with Workplace Violence subject matter experts and POCs in Government and Industry to discuss lessons learned and training and provide recommendations to customer decision-makers
  • Provide general, multi-disciplined security support to FSB as required.
  • Assist with projects large in volume and/or scale
  • Participate in special projects as assigned

Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction  DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS, 2+ years experience

Included within the years of relevant experience, the Threat Management Contractor shall possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently, though in concert with multiple Government managers
  • Knowledge and/or experience in anti-terrorism/force protection and analytical risk management concepts
  • Knowledge and understanding of diverse security disciplines – e.g. physical security, personnel security, information security, operations security
  • Ability to assist with performing thorough research, well-reasoned analysis, and quick issue resolution
  • Writing and research skills and demonstrated ability to write clear, concise reports, assessments, and documentation
