And our work depends on a SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER joining our team to support Airborne Advanced Tactical Datalink (ATDL) Engineering, Test & Evaluation activities at Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific in San Diego, CA.

Job Description Summary:

Provide System Engineering, Risk Management, and CMMI in support of Program Management, Air/Program Management, Warfare (PMA/PMW-101) MIDS Low Volume Terminal (LVT).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Current Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) experience (within the last 3 years) in Tactical Communications Systems projects to include TDL; ATDL and/or related C4I systems is desired.
  • Experience establishing, reviewing, and maintaining project documentation and training in support of CMMI capability and maturity level initiatives
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) methodology.
  • Manage risks, issues and opportunities working closely with the risk owners and risk subject matter experts during working groups and ad hoc bases to gain updates on mitigation steps and provide guidance to successfully identify and manage new risks and retire risks as applicable.
  • Provide feedback on vendor risks.
  • Provide feedback on RISKVue module enhancements and MIDS Engineering Tableau Risk Matrix Dashboard development.
  • Provide feedback to MIDS management on industry risk cost and schedule impacts.
  • Provide/present IPO Risk Summary to the MIDS Risk Management Board (RMB).
  • Attend meetings or virtual meetings such as MIDS International Program Office (IPO) LVT Risk Working Groups (RWG), MIDS IPO LVT Risk Review Board (RRB), Weekly Engineering Status Meetings, Vendor Weekly Status Meetings, MIDS Weekly USG Staff Meetings, Vendor Program Management Reviews.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Master’s, bachelor’s degree, technical school, high school graduate and/or equivalent years of technical experience for a minimum of 4 years.
  • Current CMMI experience (within the last 3 years) in Tactical Communications Systems projects to include TDL; ATDL and/or related Command, Control, Communications, Computers (C4I) systems is desired.
  • Ability to work in a remote environment
  • Active Secret clearance (with ability to obtain Top Secret)
  • Ability to obtain NIWC Pacific CAC site access card
  • Pursuant to a customer requirement, this position is contingent on providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination or submitting to regular COVID-19 testing.
