General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking JOPES/TransViz Analyst who holds an active DOD clearance.
Be able to operate each of the following applications and systems and shall provide assistance to other USTRANSCOM personnel and components using these applications: Global Decision Support System (GDSS), Scheduling and Movement Interface (SMINT), Defense Collaboration Services (DCS), JOPES Editing Tool (JET), Firefox Internet Browser, Rapid Query Tool (RQT), Time-Phased Force and Deployment Data (TPFDD) Management Tool (TMT), Web Scheduling and Movement (WebSM), Structured Query Language (SQL), Sun Secure Global Desktop (SSGD), JOPES Synchronization Process (JSP), JOPES Subscriptions (JSUB), JOPES Data Network Services (JDNETS), UNIX operating system, Shell Scripting, Extensible Markup Language (XML), Gnome Terminal, Windows operating system, Windows-based applications, and functional database manager user and error processing applications. The key responsibilities are:
Conducts analyses for contingency data contained in the JOPES databases. Assembles, prepares, and analyzes data for studies, statistical models, evaluations, system requirements, and other needs. Uses technical discretion within defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for determining approaches or obtaining solutions. Assembles, prepares, and analyzes data; presents briefings to client on analyzed data. Provides technical advice, operating assistance, and counsel for JOPES studies, Prepares and delivers presentations to colleagues, subordinates, and government representatives of reports/briefings based on the expert interpretation of analyzed data.
Perform daily status checks of all JOPES systems to include SMINT, GCCS- J Newsgroups/Mail, and Functional Manager tools used to ensure TPFDD synchronization and TPFDD error resolution. Monitor, troubleshoot, analyze and report system degradation and ensure coordination of scheduled server outages with the Global Operations Center (GOC), the USTRANSCOM Integration Division (TCJ3-39), the JSSC, and other appropriate agencies. Analyze outages or degradation and coordinate with the JSSC to ensure the GOC maintains full operational capability 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
Also responsible for all JOPES system functional testing of new applications and application upgrades. The contractor shall coordinate functional testing with command and component command operators, and command and component command external system interfaces, to include their system administrators and project management offices as required. Support shall include functional and technical support to JOPES demonstrations.
Provide on-going error resolution by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving transaction failures and conflicts between the JOPES server enclaves. Identify, analyze, and reprocess SMINT errors; support the JSSC with conflict resolution; ensure JOPES reference files are current; and develop and maintain transaction and error rate metrics
Qualifications:
Must have active DOD clearance
Must be onsite to Scott Air Force Base in Illinois
In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, five (5) years’ Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES experience is acceptable). SHOULD have JOPES experience in order to be considered for this position.
