GDIT has an opportunity for an ICAM Data Engineer working with a large line of business within GDIT that is currently supporting the Defense Information Service Agency (DISA) in the DC Metro area. We are seeking energetic, talented individuals that have a desire to help transform customer requirements supporting the DISA Enterprise Identity, Credential and Access Management (ICAM) contract. 

ICAM Data Engineers are responsible for expanding and optimizing data and data architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross-functional teams. Additional position activities include supporting software developers, database architects, data analysts and other program teammates to achieve data initiatives and ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The ability to work in a fast moving, challenging DoD environment is a must. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the rapid-fire data needs of multiple teams, systems and products sprinting in parallel. If you are excited by the prospect of redesigning Enterprise-level data architecture to support next generation products and initiatives across the Department of Defense, then we want to talk to you to help us move applications into the ICAM solution. The program is quickly growing and evolving. As a result, other duties may be assigned. This position is 100% remote.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance at minimum. Interim Secret Clearances are not allowed
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or higher in most cases may also require vendor certification at a later date as program evolves) 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience as a data engineer or comparable discipline in a government environment
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience sourcing, connecting, and assembling large, complex data sets
  • Experience with building infrastructure required for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources 
  • Advanced applied knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring, as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets
  • Experience with Agile management and associated tools
  • Self-starting and able to drive projects to completion in a fast moving environment
  • Solid communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to create, discuss and explain technical documentation
  • Actively manages project risks and issues to close technical gaps in the project

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

  • Identity Management and Authentication/Authorization integration experience (e.g. Active Directory, SAML, LDAP, MFA, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, etc )
  • Experience with DevSecOps concepts, tools and automation skills
  • Experience troubleshooting issues related to data connections and/or data sources

The likely salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
