Writing/Training Resource – Technical Writer

Join General Dynamic Information Technology (GDIT) to provide Technical Writing/Training resources for an exciting new contract. For the cloud services contract the Writing/Training Resource will provide support writing and or editing documentation supporting the following types of services and solutions in the following task areas:   Network Normalization, Identity and Access Management, Enterprise Services, Cloud Computing, Storage Services, Secure File Transfer Services, Virtual Machine Services, Database Hosting Services, Web Hosting Services, Hosting Optimization, Development and Test Hosting Services, Training and Professional Services. 

Responsibilities:

  • The Tech Writer develops and maintain project related documentation.
  • Translates technical information into clearly understandable documentation to be used by both technical and non-technical customers. 
  • Logs and stores all materials received from external sources.
  • Develops document outlines in accordance with project standards.
  • Maintains document development schedule and writing assignments.
  • Produces final document, including technical editing.
  • Develops graphics and tables.
  • Develop training materials and provide training.

Key Requirements:

  • U. S. Citizen and/or Green Card holder
  • Ability to secure a Public Trust clearance
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated experience working with development teams
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing to convey cloud technologies and solutions
  • Expertise in developing, maintaining and contributing to technical and process documentation.
  • Contributes to completion of specific training programs and projects.
  • Provides training solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Oversees the planning and designing of instructional methods and materials.
  • Oversees training and design solutions to develop program management curricula/programs.
  • Oversees the delivery of on-site and/or in-house training classes, seminars, self-study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises and discussion groups for customers and/or employees.
  • Develops measurement tools to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction or training interventions.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant training and technology.

Desired:

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 3+ years of experience
